Ready to Work is San Antonio’s premier training, education, and employment program. This one-of-a-kind program connects San Antonians to education and quality jobs – and, ultimately, well-paid careers that can sustain their families. Ready to Work will meet you where you are and take you to the next level with skills for higher-paying jobs.

Medical Assistant

Medical assistants provide direct patient care such as injections & medication, assist the physician with filing, recording, scheduling appointments, scan for vital signs and review test results. Our Medical Assistant + BLS certification program will equip students with skills necessary in utilizing the patient scheduling procedure for appointments and specialized testing. Additionally, students will gain vital Basic Life Support skills to effectively recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies.

Certified Nursing Assistant + BLS + Externship

Certified nursing assistants work closely with patients and nurses, assisting with various physical and complex tasks essential to patient care. Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification program equips students with a solid foundation in client care-taking principles, the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and key healthcare processes. Additionally, students will gain vital Basic Life Support skills to effectively recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies.

 Patient Care Technician + EKG/ECG

A patient care technician provides care for patients by helping with daily living activities, whereas EKG/ECG professionals perform diagnostic tests and aid physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions. In this certification program, students will learn the skills necessary to assist patients in hospitals, medical clinics, assisted living environments and physician offices.

Bookkeeping & Accounting Assistant

This program prepares students for relevant computing skills using Intuit® QuickBooks, the industry leader in managerial accounting software, while enhancing skills in bookkeeping application.

Pharmacy Technician

We maintain National Partnerships with Industry Associations to be approved providers of industry-recognized credential exam test preparation, proctoring, and administration. We also are a Certiport Authorized Testing Center to administer exam proctoring of over 15 certification exams with quality and integrity.

As a Texas Workforce Commission Eligible Training Provider, we affirm our credibility and strong reputation to deliver credentialed high-growth and high-demand state and industry-recognized vocational programs. Our training programs are recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) eligible for (WIOA)–funded training services. We partner with multiple Workforce Solutions office throughout Texas to coordinate, schedule, and conduct our programs throughout the year.

This program will highlight the different computer applications and how each supports business productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. We understand the job search process can be challenging. That's why you need the support and resources of a professional network to help you level up your career! Currently enrolled students gain the opportunity to attend career readiness workshops, personalized career coaching, and gain employment opportunities through our Career Connect Program.

Program
Requirements

To participate in the program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain 80% attendance of in-class hours

  • Complete all coursework including homework assignments

  • Practice personal accountability by emailing or discussing with your Learning Facilitator regarding absences and the timeline to complete missed assignments

In partnership with Lane Staffing, certified students can access the latest job postings from Houston, Dallas, and Austin. After completing an employment application and matching to an opportunity, a recruiter will partner with you to secure temp/contract, temp-to-hire, or direct placement positions in your field.
